RIBBON MARKERS

Book Edge Printing
Book edge printing, an often-overlooked element in modern bookmaking, was extremely popular during the medieval period and is offered on a selection of our hardcover and flexi notebooks. Check for this detailing on the individual product pages in the Product Information section.
Binding
Smyth Sewn Binding -
We take the durability of our products seriously and bind all our books using the sturdy yet incredibly flexible Smyth sewn technique. In the classic art of bookmaking, the sewing together of signatures (paper folded into groups of eight, sixteen or thirty-two pages) is seen as the heart of a well-made book, and we have followed this tradition in creating Paperblanks books.
Closures
Clasp Closure - Originally used in Coptic bindings, clasps give protection and provide decoration.
Wrap Closure - All our wraps fold over the front cover and are held securely in place by hidden magnets.
Elastic Closure - Elastic band closures expand to fit your needs as you fill your journal over time.
No Closure - Sometimes you just want to live without limits – and that’s why a selection of our journals offer no closure at all.

Linded - Thin, dark grey lines approximately 7mm apart (depending on size format).
Unlined - Blank, ivory-coloured paper.
