What is a PP Spun Sediment Filter?
Spun filters are made of fine melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a cylinder-like form.
Propylene is a substance that is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removal of these particles allows filters, such as Carbon filter, to perform better and for longer periods of time.
Generally, for water that is more visibly polluted, containing larger particles, a sediment filter of a larger size (5 microns) is recommended in the first stage of installation to prevent the clogging of the next stage(s) of water filter.
This PP Spun sediment filter is often the first filter installed in the Reverse Osmosis filtration unit and acts as a net as it catches unwanted particles, including sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles.
